Agnes Scott College Announces Cheryl Webster as Vice President for College Advancement

Agnes Scott College has announced that Cheryl Webster will join its administration as vice president for college advancement, effective October 1. She will be responsible for external relations, fundraising, partnership development, alumnae relations, communications and marketing.

Most recently, Webster served as vice president of advancement for Salem State University in Salem, Mass., and also as executive director of the Salem State University Alumni Association & Foundation, Inc., where she raised the most funding of any Massachusetts state university and brought in the three largest gifts in state university history. In addition to her successful major gift fundraising, she also doubled the endowment during her tenure as vice president. Previously, she directed leadership giving, annual giving, pre-campaign assessment planning and advancement services for Emerson College in Boston.

Cheryl Webster is set to join Agnes Scott College on October 1, 2024.

Webster holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oswego State University. She has served on the boards of Lynn (MA) Museum and Arts Center and St. Jean’s Credit Union.

“I’m excited to join the Agnes Scott community, where I have already felt a sincere and generous welcome from everyone I met on the beautiful Decatur campus,” said Webster. “Agnes Scott’s commitment to social mobility, innovation and student experience holds deep meaning for me, in many ways mirroring the culture I experienced at Salem State and the experience that brought so much opportunity to me. As a first-generation college graduate, I firmly believe in the power of the undergraduate experience and look forward to advancing the mission that is vital to supporting academic aspirations of a very diverse student body at Agnes Scott.”

“Cheryl has not only the skills and experience, but also the strong sense of mission necessary to succeed in her new role,” said Leocadia I. Zak, president of Agnes Scott College. “Her ability to connect with students, faculty, alumnae and donors reflects her innate passion for this work and will be key in building the relationships and outreach needed to support Agnes Scott’s mission and reputation for academic excellence and innovation. She has proven herself as a committed community partner and a trusted advisor, and we are thrilled to have her on the team.”
