Agnes Scott Recognized as School Making an Impact by The Princeton Review

Agnes Scott was also honored for its alumnae network and sustainability efforts.

Agnes Scott College was named to The Princeton Review’s Best Value College rankings once again for 2022. Agnes Scott’s continued commitment to innovation, professional success and student experience vaulted them to third among private schools in Best Schools for Making an Impact and sixth in the Top 20 Best Alumni Networks lists.

The College also rose to 16 in the Top 50 Green Colleges from 25 in 2021.

Being among the 209 colleges named by the publication is no small feat, as schools need to fit very specific criteria to earn the honor.

According to The Princeton Review, all schools on the list share these values:

  • stellar academics
  • affordable cost—either via a comparatively low sticker price or generous financial aid
  • strong career prospects for graduates

Agnes Scott checks in with a return-on-investment rating of 87 out of 99, a mark well on par with many of its highly-regarded peers.

Agnes Scott has seen an increase in its rankings each of the last several years after the introduction of the SUMMIT program as a core pillar of its educational experience. The experiential learning component of SUMMIT has grown into a four-year journey predicated on personal, professional and cultural growth. The inclusion of Sophomore Class Atlanta Leadership Experience (SCALE) and Applied Career Experiences (ACE) into the SUMMIT curriculum has broadened the offerings students can use to prepare themselves for life after Agnes Scott.

The impact Agnes Scott is making is not just limited to its undergraduate offerings. The College’s blossoming graduate programs reflect a commitment to innovation and world-changing. A Master’s in Social Innovation, for example, prepares its students to think differently about leadership and prepare them for a shifting landscape in for-profit, non-profit and government organizations.

“We want students to become familiar with leadership principles, identify different leadership styles and observe how critical decision-making by leaders can and must be grounded in interdisciplinary knowledge, critical reflection, and clear communication,” says Gundolf Graml, associate vice president for curriculum and strategic initiatives.

“Students graduate from Agnes Scott with the ability to weave together their knowledge and skills in ways that position them for success in an ever-evolving global professional environment.”

According to the publication, Agnes Scott also continued to rise in the rankings for Best Alumni Network. Agnes Scott is known for its dedicated and involved alumnae base but it has seen an uptick in transformative networking opportunities for its students since the increased importance placed on professional success in the educational experience.

“Our ranking is a reminder of the power of ‘small but mighty,’” says MaryFrances Kerr ‘93, senior director of alumnae relations. “The passion our alums feel for Agnes Scott is special—and it matters enormously!”

Agnes Scott Alumnae Association President Whitney Ott ‘03 echoed the sentiment.

“We are thrilled to be recognized for our empowered, connected and caring network of Scotties,” Ott remarked. “This top ten ranking underscores Agnes Scott alumnae’s ongoing commitment to helping each other enjoy postgraduate success across geographies and generations.

“We’re continuing the great work Agnes Scott started in all of us: empowering and celebrating women of every identity to claim our place as leaders in our communities, workplaces and world, always honoring our alma mater in our support for one another,” ended Ott.
